Frank Semple: Chairman

  • Retired Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of MarkWest Energy Partners, L.P.
  • Joined MPLX in 2015, at the time of the MPLX and MarkWest combination ($15.6B transaction) and retired in 2016. He joined MarkWest in 2003, as president and chief executive officer and was elected chairman of the board in 2008. 
  • Completed a 22-year career with The Williams Companies and WilTel Communications. He served as the chief operating officer of WilTel Communications, senior vice president/general manager of Williams Natural Gas Company, vice president, operations and engineering for Northwest Pipeline Company and division manager for Williams Pipeline Company.
  • Prior to his time at The Williams Companies, Mr. Semple served in the U.S. Navy.
  • Earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the United States Naval Academy. He completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School.
  • Serves on the board of directors of the general partner of Andeavor Logistics LP.

Kevin Jordan: Director & CEO – Black Gold Group

  • Majority principal in the Black Gold Group of companies.
  • Received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Oklahoma State University where he was named the Outstanding Graduate. He also received a Law Degree from the University of Tulsa and a Masters Degree in Business from Southern Methodist University in Texas. While certainly using the legal background in his various business endeavors, Kevin has spent most of his life in entrepreneurial roles in small and mid-size businesses.
  • Spent 25 years in executive management and ownership of numerous businesses that he has started, acquired, merged, or turned around and recapitalized amidst the turbulent times experienced by that business. He has consulted and/or facilitated financing and equity investments on dozens more in these same and other industries. 

Matt Cantrell: Managing Partner

  • Founder of Streams Advisory Group and sits on the Board of Nitro-Lift Technologies. Streams seeks to partner and capitalize companies who possess high integrity and high growth platforms.
  • Worked ten years for ONEOK, Inc. where he focused on corporate business development. During his tenure he was a part of ONEOK’s restructuring from a GP/MLP to a pureplay C-Corp, the spinoff of ONEGas, the acquisition of Chevron’s West Texas LPG Pipeline, and more than $7.0B in growth projects.  
  • Originated and consulted on new opportunities in the midstream energy sector for Two Oak Energy Capital, who works with Partners Group, a $78B infrastructure fund.
  • Received his BS of Finance from Oklahoma State University.

Vernon Daniels: Founder & Chief Executive Officer

  • 33 years of experience with all phases of exploration and production including 19 years of experience with nitrogen units
  • Samedan Oil Corporation: one year – Accounting; two years – Joint Venture Land Department Liaison; three years – Assistant Manager Offshore Drilling and Production 
  • Manager at W.H. Mengden Oil & Gas – supervised all phases of E&P activities including land and legal, accounting, and made all decisions on exploration and production activities
  • Co-founded the Daniels Corporation in 1987 – Conduct E&P activities in the Gulf Coast Area

Danny Daniels: Founder & Chief Technology Officer

  • 28 years of experience with all phases of exploration and production including 19 years of experience with nitrogen units 
  • Holds numerous patents on processes and equipment related to nitrogen generation, completion, and production
  • Manager at Jackson Oil Company
  • Co-founder of the Daniels Corporation in 1987 – Conduct E&P activities in the Gulf Coast Area 
  • BS Degree: Industrial Drafting and Design – Southeastern Oklahoma State University

Chase Daniels: Chief Commercial Officer

  • Extensive experience nitrogen, drilling and production operations
  • Field operator on first nitrogen units in Barnett Shale starting in 2006
  • Nitrogen experience encompasses all phases of Upstream, Midstream and Downstream (Operations & Sales)
  • Nitrogen sales experience includes bids, engineer interface and supervision of sales staff
  • Experience as directional drilling operator for MWD Directional Drilling
  • Supervised well re-work program for Don H. Wilson, Inc. upgrading infrastructure and effecting a workover program taking production from 8 BOPD to 110 BOPD

John W. Beaver: Chief Operations Officer

  • 11 years of broad experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Over 5 years with Nitro-Lift including fabrication general manager for 18 months and fabrication sales and business development across all three entities
  • Assisted in leading the start-up and handling land manager duties of a small privately held E&P company 
  • 12 years of experience trading oil and natural gas futures both as a broker and a trader
  • Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch 
  • Executive Vice President of Smith Barney

Todd Conklin: TITLE

  • Owner of Tricon Energy and manager of many family oil and gas production and royalty companies. These companies have assets in the Anadarko Basin, Austin Chalk/Eagle Ford and Williston Basin. Todd creates and invests in geologic ideas in the royalty side of the oil and gas business. 
  • Previously was the Chief Geologist for Unit Petroleum where he led a team of 14 geologists running 14 rigs with a capex of over $500MM per year. Todd also generated prospects that led to core assets for Unit
  • Managed and operated his family’s oil and gas production companies.

Jim Zaslaw: TITLE

  • Current owner of Hebron Energy LLC, a non-operator shallow North Texas E&P Company as well as the owner of multiple individual oil and gas properties in New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama and Mississippi with various operators.
  • In 1984, he became an independent and has participated in hundreds of wells corporately as well as individually. In addition, he has been a principal of multiple private E&P entities, Twister Gas Company, and CEC Exploration, which have operated over 400 wells, as well as a natural gas company which marketed, processed and transported natural gas in the 1990’s.
  • In 1981, he worked for an independent operator, Lew Ward, then becoming Ward Petroleum, and was responsible for geologic generation to keep Ward Petroleum rigs active.  At that time, he and Mr. Conklin started their working relationship.
  • In 1979, started with Amoco Production Company, working as part of the US Thrust Belt team.
  • Educated at the University of Montana and the Colorado School of Mines.
